This is a genre in Literary Fiction. In the tradition of writers of the past such as James Joyce, Henry Miller, Anais Nin and Pauline Reage. D. H. Lawrence wrote a book called Lady Chatterley's Lover. While it is a book about many things, it does have erotic parts -- as do the other books above. Erotica differs from Romance books in that there might not be a happy ending to the story. Contemporary writers such as myself want the reader to "think." So goes most Literary Fiction. We are just a subset of that genre.
